“I am Seventy-years-old. I have worked hard all my life. But I don’t have a house of my own. Not even a plot of land! On the other hand, I see young people, who started earning only a few years ago, building or owning fancy houses/flats,” moaned a senior citizen, in self-pity.

Yes, it is true. You need to be really fortunate to get a good, understanding wife. Ditto, if you want to own a house. Wife, you may surely get. She might or might not be a nice, understanding woman, but possessing a house is not that easy. If you don’t believe what I say, please inquire with those who have acquired a plot of land or at least purchased an apartment. They will give you a list of hurdles they faced in acquiring the property. “Only God knows the difficulties we overcame to become  plot/house/flat-owners!” would be their uniform reply to your question on whether the road to acquiring property was fast and smooth.

Becoming a house-owner is not such an easy task, my friend. Astrologically speaking, a person will own property, only if the Fourth House in one’s horoscope is powerful. If the Fourth House from the Lagna is favourable, then he/she will become the owner of a house. They would acquire property, and that too effortlessly, even if they had no particular desire to own it.

Stories are legion in this regard. I heard one person saying the other day: “Know what, I had no intention of buying a plot or a house! But, suddenly, this fellow, my nephew turned up one day. ‘Mama, please follow me,’ he said, taking me to a total stranger. ‘This gentleman is my close friend. He is in urgent need of money. Please help him. No, I am not asking you to lend him money. He has a piece of land in Indira Nagar. He wants to sell it to raise money.’ Then taking me aside, he told me: ‘Listen, you are getting the land dirt cheap. The fellow is in a terrible financial mess. Take my advice and buy his land. You’ll never regret it. I would do so, if I had the money,’ he added. I took his advice, parted with my money, and got the land registered in my name. People say that I got the land really cheap. The point is that I made absolutely no effort to acquire it in the first place.”

The amusing thing here is that many go about looking for land, with money in their pockets, but somehow luck eludes them. They end up without buying even a centimetre of land. Soon, some unexpected expenditure crops up, and the money earmarked for the land vanishes like a slab of ice in the sun. I have seen this happening to many people planning to buy land. A wealthy man lives in a house, paying a rental of over a lakh of rupees, because he is unable to zero in on the house of his choice. In contrast, I have seen, an otherwise poor man living in the comfort of his own house.

Another equally amusing thing is the fact that the millionaire-owner of a business lives in a rented house/apartment, while his employee, a clerk or a factory worker, earning a pittance as a salary, goes back home every night to a home of his own. “Ha, it is their inherited property!” some might say. No, not true, in all cases. Ironically, the otherwise hard-put, clerk/factory worker would have built the house out of his savings.

The reason: the placement of planets in one’s horoscope. It is the magic of the Fourth House in the horoscope of the clerk/factory worker that does the trick. The Fourth House is the domain of one’s mother, vehicle, education and happiness. So, if you want know whether you/he/she would own a house, all you have to do is check the sukhasthanam, the indicator of property, in other words, the Fourth House.

It is entirely due to God’s grace that a person becomes the owner of a house, if the Four House is occupied by grahas that belong to the Sixth, Eighth or Twelfth Houses or if the graha, which should occupy the Fourth House is in the Sixth, Eighth or Twelfth Houses. Also, owning a house becomes that much more difficult, if the Fourth House is occupied by Rahu or Ketu or if the House is not aspected by a powerful graha.

You would definitely own a house, if the Fourth House is exalted or is aspected by the planet, Guru. You could also be assured of becoming a house owner, if the Bhagyavathi or the Lagnadipathi were residing in the Fourth House. The same result would accrue, if Sani were sitting in the Fourth House and is aspected by planets of the Second, Fourth, Fifth, Ninth or the Eleventh Houses.

A favourable planetary configuration is just as important to become a house owner, as the proper documents you require to secure a bank loan to build the house. You first priority should be to check your horoscope to know this. Especially important in this matter is the fate of the Fourth House!

My best regards.
