Blessing from Maa Gauri
8th day of Navaratri!

Lets all pamper ourselves with the love and affection shown by Goddess Maa Gowri today. Maa Gauri is the eighth avatar of Maa Durga.
Goddess Parvati wanted to marry Lord Shiva, so she started to perform severe penance. She was so thoughtful and concentrated in her penance that she unnoticed the mud and soil covered her entire body. Lord Shiva was fully pleased by her penance and wanted to marry her. Thereby, Lord Shiva cleaned her with water from the Ganges and immediately all the dust from her body wiped off and she became pure. It seems she was shining like Gold. That’s why Goddess Parvati in this form got the name Maa Gauri.
She has three eyes and four arms. Her right upper hand is in the pose of allaying fear and right lower hand holds a trident in it. The left upper hand holds a tambourine and the lower one is in the pose of blessing. She rides on a bull.
Since She seen so shining in gesture, she is admired as moon, while flower etc. Our prayers always yield fruit from Devi. Girls who are to be married should pray to Goddess to get good husband.
Lets all pray to Goddess to dwell in our hearts and make us live happily with peace and prosperity.
