Channa Sundal – Kadalaparuppu Sundal Recipe

Ingredients

Channa dal – 1 cup

Coconut – 2 tbsp

Ginger scrapped – 1 tsp (optional)

Salt – to taste

For tempering:

Oil – 1 tsp

Mustard seeds – 1 tsp

Urad dal – 1/2 tsp

Red Chillies – 2

Curry leaves – few fresh ones

Asafoetida – sufficiently

Method:

— Soak channa dal in water for an hour.

— Now, pressure cook until soft and not mushy (for 1 to 2 whistles and 1.5 cups of water) and set aside.

— Now, heat oil in a pan and add all the items under the tab “For tempering’

— Then add the cooked channa, scrapped ginger, required salt and mix well.

— Now add coconut, give it a quick stir and switch off.

— Sundal is ready!!
