தலைப்புச் செய்தி :

Are you a lucky person?

V.G.KrishnaRau,

Astrologer

The Fifth house in one’s horoscope is capable of turning even a pauper into a king. This house is known as the domain of all our past punya, that is, the sum total of the merits of our past lives. This is in consonance with the common refrain whenever we see a lucky person. “It is the result of his past punya,” we say

Yes, it is true. We are blessed with luck and fortune in this life entirely due to our poorva punya.

Fine, but how do we find out whether a person is blessed with poorva punya?

An excellent question. A horoscope is almost like a scanning machine. Just as the scan reveals the presence or absence of a tumour in a person’s body, the Fifth house, the domain of the past punyasthanam, is the indicator of wealth and fame. I shall give another example. Just as a cheque that we have issued sails through smoothly when there is an adequate balance in our bank account, so also if there is an accrual of poorva punya in our horoscope, we are assured of wealth and fame in this birth.

 Janani Janma Sokkiyanam

Padhavi poorva punniyaanam

says the Sanskrit couplet.

If the Fifth house, the poorva punyasthanam, is powerful, that is, if the native of that house is in an exalted state, aspected by Guru, and if the Lord of Lagna is bestowing his blessings, and if the planets belonging to the Sixth, Eighth and Twelfth houses are not present in it, then the person is very lucky indeed.

A person whose poorva punyasthanam is exalted will rise to travel in a palanquin, even if he falls into a pit.

Study your horoscope, or have it read by an astologer. You will be blessed with fame and fortune, if the poorva punyasthanam is in an exalted state.

We shall next examine the horoscopes of personalities with powerful poorva punyashthanams. (Fifth house)
