KRISHNA JAYANTHI SPECIAL RAVA LADDU
Krishna Jayanthi Special Rava Laddu
Sooji laddu/ Rava laddu
Hi All, Krishna Jayanthi is only 2 days away, so are you all still thinking what to make for Janmashtami? Don’t worry, here is an easy recipe that has lord Krishna’s favorite ghee. Rava laddu is a traditional Indian sweet which is a all time favorite and mouth watering sweet suitable for all occasions that is prepared within 30 mins.
Preparation Time: 10 minutes
Cooking Time: 20 minutes
Serves: 16 pieces
This is what you need:
1 cup Rava/Sooji
1/2 cup Dry grated Coconut
1/2 cup milk
1/4 cup Ghee
3/4 cup Sugar
Broken Cashews
Small sized Raisins (any size, however small ones are good to go with laddus)
1/2 teaspoon Cardamom Powder
Take a thick-bottomed kadai and heat ghee in it. Fry the cashew nuts until they turn light brown over low flame. Now, fry raisins in the same ghee until they puff up. Now add grated coconut to this mixture so that the coconut slightly cools the flame and doesn’t make the nut and raisins to be over cooked.
Now, add Sooji/rava to the frying pan along with the other items and roast it in a very slow flame for about 10 minutes and continuously mix it. You’ll come to know when the rava is ready as you’ll get a nice roasted rava flavor. Once the rava is nicely roasted and turns slightly brown, this is the time to add sugar.
Please remember and try to cook throughout in low flame. Now you can switch off the stove and add milk. As you add milk, keep on stirring. The main flavor is given by cardamom powder, so now it’s the right time to add ½ teaspoon of cardamom powder to your mixture.
Now transfer it to your plate. When the content is slightly hot and manageable you can take some stuff in your hand and make them into small balls. And your rava laddus are ready to be served.
Note:
*You can use milk as said above or you can also switch over to water. If you want to keep laddus for about 10 days then use water. Or add milk as it will give you a good flavor and swallow the laddus in few days.
WISH YOU ALL HAPPY KRISHNA JANMASHTAMI
