The Fifth house is the Poorva punya sthanam, and, by default, the puthra sthanam. The power of this sthanam will not only show the definitive birth of a child, but can also indicate its future well-being and possible fame.

The Poorva punya sthanam is said to be weak, if the Fifth house is occupied by Rahu, Ketu, Sani (Saturn), Surya (Sun) or Sevvai (Mars). Child birth, and the ability to conceive, is definitely hampered in such a horoscope.

God’s grace is your only source of relief, if the above-mentioned planets occupy the Fifth house, or are accompanied by grahas that belong to the 6^th/8^th/12^th houses.

Behavioral problem

Okay, you have successfully overcome obstacles to marriage, successfully begotten cute little kids. They were so lovely, lively and a pleasure to watch. But then they entered their teens and your troubles started. Fights, both inside and outside the house, became common. In such an event, the family could be torn apart by troubles created by errant children. It is a moot point whether such children will take care of their parents in their old age. A question only the Lord could answer.

If, on the other hand, a planet appropriate to the Fifth house were occupying it, and, if Guru aspects the house, you would have marvellous children, who would bring great credit to the parents.

In conclusion, I can only say that, for you to have a child, especially one about whom you can be justifiably proud, the Fifth house should be powerful. ♦
