According to Indian astrology, one has to look into the Eleventh house in the horoscopes of a couple to gather information about their present/future son-in-law/daughter-in-law.
Generally, a son-in-law or daughter-in-law could be expected to revolt against the in-laws, and behave as he or she likes, if Sani (Saturn), Rahu, Ketu, Sevvai/Angaraka (Mars) or Surya (Sun) were in the Eleventh House, or if Guru (Jupiter) is not aspecting it. Therefore, he or she cannot be expected to be of the adjusting type or even give the minimum respect to their in-laws.
An amiable son-in-law or daughter-in-law
Quite in contrast, if Guru, Budha (Mercury), Sukra (Venus) or Chandra (Moon) occupied the Eleventh house, or if Guru were aspecting these planets, you could expect to have a very understanding son-in-law/daughter-in-law, that is, in popular parlance, a gem of a bride or a groom for your child. Your wish would be their command. It can also be deemed that getting such a son-in-law/daughter-in-law is the result of our poorva janma punya, that is, merits accumulated in a previous life.
Possible behavioral change of an errant son-in-law/daughter-in-law
Let’s us assume for a moment that Sani, Rahu, Ketu, Sevvai or the Sun were in the Eleventh House of a certain couple. Let us also assume that their son-in-law/daughter-in-law were the cause of much trouble and worry. Is there any possibility of a turn-around in their behaviour?
Possible. If a child were to be born to the errant son-in-law/daughter-in-law, and a favourable planet were to inhabit the Fifth house from the Lagna of the said grandchild. The beneficent planet—Bhudha, Sukra, Chandra or Guru—in the grandchild’s horoscope is likely to make the errant bride or groom see reason, and gradually convert the hostility towards their in-laws into a sort of goodwill. They would then start respecting their in-laws. I attribute this change to the magical influence of astrology over our lives.♦
