Black magic that hurt Goddess Parasakti
Black Magic can destroy our fortunes
Part – 2
by Niranjana
A furious Vishnu Gupta then embarked on a series of poojas, uttering harsh mantras that could incapacitate any enemy. And it did. Dhana Nanda fell ill. The court physicians attended on him, but failed to provide relief. Doctors from all over the kingdom were called in to cure the king, but to no avail. His condition went from bad to worse. The medicos threw up their hands, not knowing what to do. The administration of the country went for a toss, as Dhana Nanda lay on his sick bed. Soon, with a mixture of black magic and his intellectual acumen, Vishnu Gupta brought the kingdom under his control. He anointed, as emperor, Chandragupta, that great Mauryan. Chandragupta was an able statesman and a skilled warrior, but it was Vishnu Gupta, who wielded real power. However, he did not abuse his vast powers, and his influence over the emperor. Instead, he helped Chandragupta run the state capably and enabled him to make the Mauryan empire a huge and powerful entity, indeed, one of the greatest that this country had seen.
It was much later that the citizens came to know that Dhana Nanda was ousted by Vishnu Gupta’s black magic. But it was too late. Besides, so good was Chandragupta’s rule, ably assisted by the wily Vishnu Gupta, that Dhana Nanda was swiftly forgotten. Vishnu Gupta was the son of sage Sanaka. Vishnu Gupta, incidentally, was the later Chanakya of our history books. Chandragupta was extremely fortunate to have an adviser of his calibre. A colossal intellect, he was a rajaguru, a royal adviser, and the envy of other rulers. He has written in detail about rulership, about how to handle one’s enemies and about diplomacy in general. In one of the chapters, he elucidates on the ways and means to secure the downfall of a nation’s enemies and traitors. He makes particular mention of various forms of black magic to bring about this end. Chanakya feels that there is nothing wrong in employing mantras and black magic as a means to bring down a powerful adversary.
Not merely rulers, even the gods and saints have suffered due to black magic.
Adi Sankara is considered as a colossus of the Bhakti movement that was instrumental in reviving Sanatana Dharma. Nevertheless, he too had his enemies. Abhinaya gupta was one of them. Unable to digest the popularity and success of Sankara, he resorted to black magic. Sri Sankara fell ill.
Goddess Adi Parasakti, the beneficient protector of all beings, was Herself a victim of black magic once. Sri Sakti was engaged in a stiff battle with the asuras led by Mahishasura. The asuras could not withstand the might of MahaSakti. Bandasuran, another asura, then requisitioned the services of Visukaran, a demon and a skilled practitioner of black magic, to counter the power of the Mother Goddess. Visukuran drew the Vigna yantra on a piece of metal, fortified it by uttering evil mantras and hid the yantra in Sri Parasakti’s abode. The black magic resulted in the rout of Sri Sakti’s forces. So powerful was the witchcraft that Sakti’s forces found it difficult to regroup. They were weakened beyond repair.
Many of the beings, who fought on Sri MahaSakti’s side, were eliminated. “What has gone wrong?” the Mother Goddess introspected. She undertook a penance to find out the reasons. Through the power of meditation, Sri Ambika was able to know about the black magic that Bandasura had employed to disable Her forces. She instructed Her subordinates to search for the Vigna yantra. The search was fruitless. She then asked Lord Ganesh to ferret out the yantra. The Lord effortlessly retrieved the piece of metal, broke it into pieces, reduced it to ashes and threw the remnants into the sea. In fact, Lord Ganesh got the name Vigneswara precisely for destroying the Vigna yantra. Later, MahaSakti emerged victorious over the asuras.
Numerous are the stories of victims who have been affected by black magic.
Is there a remedy for this?
You will observe that though the gods and saints have themselves been the victims of black magic, they re-emerged, relatively unscathed.
But what of the common man? Emperor Dhana Nanda was destroyed by the evil forces unleashed by Vishnu Gupta. There is no cause for desperation, though. Relief can be had from worshipping Goddess Rajarajeswari, more popularly known as Sri Chottanikkara Devi in the famous Sri Chottanikkara Devi temple in Kerala. More especially the sufferer should worship at Sri Keezhkavu Bhagavathy temple in the same compound. Those suffering from the effects of black magic could also worship other Gods and Goddesses, in their fiery aspect. However, before you do so, it is advisable to worship Lord Vinayaka and your kula deivam.(Our Family God) If you fail to follow this procedure, you could meet with many obstacles in the beginning itself, which would make it impossible for you to combat the effects of black magic.
Let me leave you with one more example. There was a great political leader in our country. He was an athiest, a non-believer. Somebody who was irked by this leader’s popularity unleashed the forces of black magic on him. But it so happened that the person who resorted to black magic ended up as the victim, while the leader remained unhurt. The reason: the leader, though, ostensibly, an athiest, remained the trustee of a Vinayaka temple throughout his life. He conducted the affairs of the trust with great care and honesty, it must be pointed out. ♦
