Kitchen etiquette.

Never curse anybody when you are in the kitchen – you should never cry in the kitchen, gossips are to be totally avoided in the kitchen. This is mainly because in the kitchen, we have items like sugar and salt, which are the favorites of Goddess Sri Mahalakshmi and items like Ulud dhal, Dhoor dhal etc., which are specially attached to the Navagrahas. Hence as per the saastras all the Gods & navagrahas are in the kitchen. Hence speak only good words in the kitchen.

 Gold to Galore.

You do not have to wait till “AKSHAYA THRITHIYAI” day to buy gold, so that you would get a lot of gold jewellery through out the year. You can buy a small quantity of gold (say 1 gm) on the days on which the stars are BHARANI, POORAM & POORADAM, and the auspicious time is “CHUKRA/BUDHA HORAI” time. You will be surprised to see that you would get a lot of gold.

 Annadhanam.

Do you know the effects of Annadhanam or poor feeding? There is an interesting story related to this. Karna was a great philanthropist. He gave away every thing as “DHANAM” to all the people – but when he died he was denied entry into Heaven, because goddess ‘Dharma Devathai’ said, “You have given away so many things; donated innumerable wealth – but you did not do poor feeding/Annadhanam. Hence you cannot go to heaven!” let us do annadhana, wherever and whenever we can.

 Improvement in business

To improve your business turnover and increase your profit, perform special poojas to Goddess Mahalakshmi on Full moon days. Offer any sweet to the Goddess as “Divedhanam”. Give it first to a girl child and then distribute to others. Your business will grow by leaps and bounds.

 To attain Raja yoga

To attain Raja yoga, you must use grated “Nellikkai” for your bath – but you must not use it on days like no moon day, full moon day, Sundays, Dasami, Navami, days. If you use it on these days, the effects may turnout to be negative. Hence you can use it once a month on “EKADASI” day and enjoy Raja Yoga.

 To improve health

Suppose somebody is very seriously ill and the doctors are also not sure of the effect of their treatment, you should not become panic. There is a special mantra called “MRITHYONJAYA MANTHRAM”. Chant it as many times as you can or listen to the chanting. Life would be saved by the grace of lord Shiva.

SPIRITUAL QUESTION & ANSWERS.

Q 1: When we comb our hair, it is sai that the hair that falls should not get accumulated in the corners. Why is it so?

Answer : We generally do not give importance to our hair. There is an angel called “PARISARASU” who lives in our hair. Suppose our hair is allowed to just get accumulated in the corners, this angel may curse us. Hence the total wealth would be depleted. Suppose the family is already affected by the curse of Lord “SANIESWARA” the impact would be very severe. Hence it is advisable to remove the hair from the corner.

Q 2: Why do we place “Kumkum” and “Manjal” on the door step?

Answer: It is believed that our family deity (KULA DEIVAM) resides in the door step. Hence our house is protected from all evil spirits by the deity. Hence to honour the deity we place kumkum and manjal.

Q 3: Can you suggest a remedy to come out of a debt trap and to improve my business?

Answer: Please chant the “SRI KANAKADHARA SLOKA” every day for 48 days. At least listen to it in mornings and evenings. Play the Cassette at home and in your office or shop. Your business would improve bringing in the more wealth. “KUSELAR” who suffered from acute poverty became rich only by the power of this sloka.

Q 4: Why do married women keep Bhindhi/Kumkum on the top of their forehead at the beginning of their hairline?

Answer: This question can be answered quoting a scene from the “Ramayana”. When sita was in ‘Asoka vanam’, Anjaneya goes in search of her. Anjaneya finds her under an Asoka tree, in the midst of RAKSHASHIS. He observes her forehead and mistakes her kumkum on the head to be blood. Anjaneya tells her that he would kill the one who made her bleed at the forehead. She replies that it was not blood and it was kumkum. She adds that every married woman should keep kumkum there so that her husband, has a long and healthy life.

Q 5: I have heard of Billi/Sunyam etc., are they true? Do they exist?

Answer : “At one point of time, Sri Adi sankara was becoming more popular. Abhinaya Guptar, a witch became very jealous and did some ‘SEY VINAY’ to Adi sankara. Adi sankar fell sick-but he prayed intensely to lord Shiva and recovered very fast”. There is a reference like their in our puranas. Hence it is advisable to continuously pray god especially the family deity so that none of the bad spirits done come near us. We can also pray to lord Shiva as the Bootha Ganas will not allow any bad spirit to come near us.

Q 6: What should be done as a “Parikaaram” for the early marriage of a girl with “SEVVAI DOSHAM”? (Mangalik)

Answer : she has to visit a shiva temple for 8 weeks. On the 9th week, preferably on a “Pradosham” day, she has to perform Archana and Abhishekam with honey to Lord shiva. She has to distribute the prasadams to some people outside the temple. This would remove all the obstacles and marriage would take place very soon. This is common for both men & women who have “SEVVAI DOSHAM”. (Mankalik)

Q 7: What should be done to make Goddess Sri Mahalakshmi stay at our house and to invoke her blessings?

Answer : Do poor feeding as many times as possible to the best of your ability. Always keep honey, sugar candy, and curd at home so that you are blessed by Goddess Mahalakshmi always.
